At present, the world economic situation and the situation in the air transport industry do not allow carriers to, as was the common practice before, commit themselves to long term fixed prices of the flight tickets. In spite of the fact that the price lists are usually valid for 6 months, all carriers take the liberty of changing prices. This is justified by unstable fuel price and the security situation in the world and individual countries. The most variable final price elements are the so called  »fuel surcharge«, additional cost for airport security and different other charges as carriers see fit. All additional cost factors are combined in airport taxes added to the basic flight price. Different currency exchange rates are also necessary to be taken into consideration therefore it is common practice that all prices quoted to the customers are valid on that particular day/date only and may change the next day/date.
